SERVICE ADVISOR m/f

The core task of the position of Service Advisor, is to provide high-quality customer service while helping customers solve car problems and setting up service requests. Service advisor responsibilities include helping customers choose services, explaining costs and time estimates, assisting mechanics with troubleshooting and keeping accurate documentation of service requests.

Tasks of the Service Advisor:

  • Greet customers upon arrival promptly and provides timely professional service;
  • Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; checking vehicle maintenance records and examining service schedules;
  • Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions;
  • Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies and labor; calculating customer’s payment, including deductibles;
  • Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into Service database system and booking repair orders;
  • Maintains customer report by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions, vehicle status, concerns; arranging towing and when necessary temporary transportation;
  • Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promise time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
  • Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned;
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturer’s publications;
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments;
  • Takes initiative to help other colleagues if necessary.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, patient attitude, attention to detail, a highly developed customer service orientation and the ability to work independently and efficiently, but is also a team player.

The Service Advisor Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Previous Service Advisor experience is a plus;
  • 5+ year demonstrable work experience in a similar position is preferred;
  • Knowledge of automotive industry and parts;
  • Any automotive certifications is a plus;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to explain complicated automotive concepts to customers who may not be familiar with automotive terminology;
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Language proficiency: Papiamento, Dutch, English and Spanish.

PARTS SALESMAN m/f

The core task of the position is to ascertain the type of part needed or assists the customer or mechanic in determining the correct part for the job at hand. Reads catalogs and/or computer listings to obtain replacement part stock number, determines availability of parts, orders part if necessary, fills orders from stock, marks/logs and stores parts according to prearranged system, receives and fills telephone orders.

Tasks of the Parts Salesman (front and/or back counter):

  • Provides exceptional service by listening to customers inquiries, requests and questions to ensure understanding of needs and supplying parts in a timely manner;
  • Process customer orders and recommend additional related repair items;
  • Gain superior product knowledge and understanding of vehicle components to effectively help customers;
  • Assist with daily inventory, receiving, stocking and shipping;
  • Ensure all necessary parts are stocked and ready for purchase;
  • Order new parts from catalog as needed;
  • Recommend substitute parts or show customers how to modify parts;
  • Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customer descriptions of malfunctions;
  • Registers the costs of parts on the repair order;
  • Assists Mechanics and Body Shop personnel in determining parts requirements;
  • Locate other vendors who have the part if it isn't carried in store;
  • Consistently gets updated on the knowledge of car parts and accessories;
  • Help maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the parts service counter, work area and stockroom;
  • Takes initiative to help other colleagues if necessary.

Knowledge and experience required are:

  • Previous parts advisor experience is a plus;
  • Understand basic automotive components and system;
  • Automotive dealership service experience is a plus;
  • Any automotive certifications are a plus;
  • A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service;
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Working knowledge of computers;

Master Technician Heavy Trucks m/f

The core task of the position is to perform basic and advanced repair, diagnosis and Troubleshooting and maintenance on heavy commercial trucks, trailers, buses, vans and pick-ups.

Tasks of Master Technician heavy trucks:

  • Diagnoses and repairs trucks accurately and within a reasonable time frame and with a quality of work that exceeds customer expectations;
  • Perform advanced removal and replacement, and diagnostic work accurately according to daily work orders such as: hydraulic and pneumatic systems, emission control systems, throttle body injection, electrical problems, ignition, mechanical problems, transmission and engine overhaul / exchange;
  • Excellent welding and construction skills;
  • Responsible for maintenance of records, obtaining estimates and appraisals, requisition and control of materials, tools and parts;
  • Schedule and coordination of outside repairs, review and authorization of invoices and preparation of status reports, work orders, equipment inventory reports and other reports as needed;
  • Respond to after-hour repairs, breakdowns, emergencies etc.
  • Performs quality control checks;
  • Train members of the Service Department thoroughly in heavy trucks;/li>
  • Observes and follows all necessary safety regulations when operating machinery, equipment and tools;
  • Perform any other duties either necessary for customer service or perceived by or assigned to the job;
  • Takes initiative to help other colleagues if necessary.

  • Master Technician diploma (Volvo Master Diploma is a must);
  • Certified Practical teacher heavy trucks and cars;

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Working knowledge of computers;
  • Possess all driver's licenses (A, AM, B, BE, C, C1, C1E, D, DE, D1, T);

Specializes in maintenance and light repair work.  Focuses on quick, high volume jobs (brakes, tires, filters, batteries, performs any and all repairs and service as indicated on Vehicle Inspection Report or Repair Estimate Order. Handles multiple tasks quickly and efficiently Utilizes Quick Lane processes and policies to ensure customer satisfaction Efficient and effective service operations.

  • Technical school - EPB or equivalent preferred
  • Auto technician certification
  • Driver’s license
